Seminarian Visit
We always look forward to our Christmas visit with the Diocesan seminarians and other young men discerning the priesthood. This year it was as delightful (and hilarious) as ever! Please join us in praying for these courageous young men as they embark on this journey of discernment.
An Anniversary
On February 15th, our Sr. Mary Agnes marked her 45th anniversary of Passionist Profession! In honor of the occasion, a group of Sisters serenaded her with some of her favorite hymns. Ad multos annos, Sister!
Visitation
On March 3rd, we welcomed home the mortal remains of our dear Sr. Mary Magdalen. We transformed our visiting parlor into a little chapel of sorts and sang the Divine Office there until the funeral and burial the next day. It was as always a beautiful opportunity to keep vigil, to pray for our Sister, and to welcome the numerous friends and family members who came to pay their respects.
Funeral and burial
Sr. Mary Magdalen’s Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday morning, March 4th. Bishop Medley presided, and Sister’s good friend Fr. John Vaughn was the homilist. Despite heavy rain and storms predicted for all day, fervent prayers obtained perfect weather for the graveside service. We joked that this could be Sister’s beatification miracle!! Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine …
