Prayers for Peace
Like the rest of the world, we are shocked and saddened by the tragic news of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The suffering that this war has caused and will cause weighs heavily on our hearts. As Passionist contemplatives, we are responding by intensifying our intercession for both countries, begging our Crucified Lord to restore peace and prevent an escalation of this conflict. We are keeping a vigil light burning night and day next to the large crucifix in our cloister hallway, as a sign of our unceasing prayer. May Jesus the Prince of Peace, and Our Lady Queen of Peace bring an end to all bloodshed and violence in our world!
God of perfect peace, violence and cruelty can have no part with you. May those who are at peace with one another hold fast to the good will that unites them; may those who are enemies forget their hatred and be healed.
Most holy and immaculate Virgin, Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother, we pray that your intercession may protect us and all people from hatred and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified. We ask your maternal care for our Holy Father who works to reconcile the nations in peace. We seek your guidance for our President and other leaders as they strive for world peace. Glorious Queen of peace, grant us peace in our hearts, harmony in our families, and concord throughout the world.
