Let Us Rejoice!

On February 1st, we had our traditional Gaudeamus (Latin for “let us rejoice”) in honor of the Superior’s feast day — transferred from Mother John Mary’s actual feast on Dec 27, so that it’s not in the middle of the Christmas Octave! It was a day full of sisterly joy, with special meals, gifts, and just plain fun. In the morning, the younger Sisters put on an inspiring skit about the incredible spiritual power of our daily actions. Actors and audience alike were encouraged to be faithful in the “little things” … because you never know how much grace they are drawing down for souls! The afternoon saw Mother organizing a group to combine a hike with a much-needed cleanup of our property from some remaining tornado debris. We managed to get the woods and fields looking a bit nicer — and we had plenty of fun along the way.

Check out the slideshow below for some “snapshots” of our day!
