Sisters in the Passionist International Bulletin! (Part 1)

The Passionist Fathers recently released the newest issue of their publication, the Passionist International Bulletin (PIB), and we thought you might be interested in a couple of articles in particular … reflections written by our Sisters Frances Marie and Miriam Esther! In a spirit of communion between the male and female branches of our Congregation, the Fathers asked to share some thoughts from their Sisters on our common charism, and we were most happy to oblige!

Click on the button below to read the first article: “The Passionist Nun and the Crucified of Today,” by Sr. Miriam Esther. In it, she discusses the way we as contemplatives are called to remain close to those in whom Christ is “renewing His Passion” in our world.

There is no denying it: we live in a suffering, a crucified world. Each story we hear on the news, or which comes to us through prayer requests, is more heart-rending than the next. The global COVID-19 pandemic has only served to worsen the pre-existing anguish of humanity, adding a new layer of fear, insecurity, and grief to an already crushing burden of suffering. Truly, the world has never been more in need of what we as Passionists can offer.
