As I write this blog post today is Sunday, the Feast of Christ the King. Our afternoon is free and I just finished watching Of Gods and Men, based on the book The Monks of Tibhirine. The true story of Catholic Trappist monks willing to die serving a Muslim flock during the political nightmare that unfolds in Algeria during the 1990s. The movie is well done from a monastic perspective. If you would like a glimpse of monastic silence  (and the other monastic practices I've shared with you) watch this movie.

Please beware, there is one use of profanity in the movie - Br. Christophe forgot his "monastic decorum", but fortunately Br. Luc covered this failure with charity.
