Dear Sisters, There has just been word on the News that a nun was killed by a hit and run driver here on Long Island. Sister's name has not been released. Sister was found by the side of the road by a passerby. Please pray for her. Sincerely, Mary Ann

Sisters, this story of the suppression of the Passionists is both sad and interesting. It certainly was like a Way of the Cross, yet followed by a resurrection.

What strikes me is the lack of reasoning in someone who would close a monastery. When otherwise sane people reject reason, it is very difficult for me to bear. Of course, those who impede the Church in her mission have their own idea of what is "reasonable"....but it is very hard on me, as someone who struggles with a mental illness and who tries with great difficulty to do God's will from behind the misty curtain of delusion, to see what appears to be a willful and outright rejection of reason. It is painful.

Yes, bizaare things do happen when reason goes out the door...So we seek to stay close to Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life and seek to find our JOY and PEACE in HIM!
